1. What these technologies are
Cookies are small values a website stores in a browser. Local storage and IndexedDB are browser databases used to remember larger or longer-lived information. Similar technologies may also be used by services opened from Daily Fanfare, such as secure checkout.
2. What we currently use
- Authentication and security: Clerk uses essential cookies and related storage to keep you signed in, route authentication and protect accounts.
- Product continuity: Daily Fanfare uses local storage and IndexedDB to preserve work in progress, editable drafts, account-summary caches and calendar caches so the application remains responsive and can recover your local state.
- Payments: Razorpay may use essential security, fraud-prevention and checkout technologies after you choose to open secure checkout.
- Instagram connection: short-lived state may be used to securely complete the account-connection callback that you request.
- Campaign landing measurement: when a link contains our current founder-pilot campaign tags, short-lived session storage prevents an obvious duplicate event in the same browser tab. We store the campaign tags, an opaque lead code, the landing path and event time; we do not add an analytics cookie or store an email address with this event.
- Advertising preference: Daily Fanfare stores your “granted” or “denied” choice under
dailyfanfare:advertising-consentin local storage so the optional tag remains on or off as requested.
3. Analytics and advertising
If you accept optional advertising measurement, Daily Fanfare loads the Google Ads base tag. Google may then receive browser and page-request information and use cookies or similar technologies to measure advertising performance. Daily Fanfare does not send enhanced-conversion data or add purchase, signup or other conversion events through this implementation.
If you decline or have not chosen, the Google Ads tag is not requested or initialized. The limited first-party campaign measurement described above continues independently and is not cross-page user tracking.
4. Your controls
Use the “Advertising choices” control to revisit your choice. Declining after previously accepting reloads the page to end the loaded tag session and prevent future tag loads. You can also delete or block cookies and site storage through browser settings. Blocking essential cookies or clearing local application storage may sign you out, remove unsaved local work, slow account loading or prevent checkout and other requested features from working.
